Guide

Where to sleep in Cotonou, area by area.

Finding a place in Cotonou is not only about price: it is water, power, a guardian and someone who answers when something goes wrong. Here is how we read the city, and what we guarantee in each of our homes.

The areas

Fidjrossè

The beach, the restaurants and the evening life. Sunsets on the route des pêches, ten minutes by car to the centre.

Akpakpa

Across the bridge: larger homes, quieter streets, a genuinely residential area for a long stay or a family.

Patte d'Oie

The practical hub: clinics, schools, administration, two and a half kilometres from the airport. Ideal for a work trip or a medical stay.

Cocotiers et Haie Vive

The heart of the expat and embassy district: shops, cafés, safety, everything on foot.

Coming for one specific place, the airport, an embassy, a clinic? The closest homes, with their distance

Frequently asked

Which neighbourhood should I stay in, in Cotonou?
Fidjrossè for the beach and restaurants, Akpakpa for peace and quiet and larger homes, Patte d'Oie and Cocotiers to be close to the centre, the clinics and the airport. Léna Escapes homes are spread across these neighbourhoods.
How much does a night in a furnished home in Cotonou cost?
At Léna Escapes, the listed homes range from 35,000 to 180,000 FCFA a night depending on size, electricity included, with lower rates by the fortnight and by the month.
Hotel or furnished home in Cotonou?
A furnished home works out cheaper as soon as there are two of you or you stay three nights, and gives you a kitchen, a washing machine and more space. A hotel keeps the edge on daily service; at Léna Escapes, that service exists too: someone to welcome you on arrival, cleaning on request, a direct number.
Should I worry about water and electricity?
That is the real question in Cotonou. Every home has water included and air conditioning, and electricity is included in all our rates: no meter readings, no nasty surprises.
How do I book and pay from abroad?
You choose your dates online on the home's page and secure the stay with a 50% deposit, payable by Mobile Money (MTN, Moov, Celtiis). To pay by card or from abroad, message us on WhatsApp and we will tell you how to pay the deposit. The balance is paid on arrival, in FCFA.
